As an operator of the WikiBase product on a local environment, I want to have documented the correct process is to export and import backups of the WikiBase data and associated MediaWiki, so that I know that I'm using the correct, supported, and intended process for backup and restoration of my Wiki.

For dumping JSON it appears that there are not many docs....
JSON will only give you current versions not full history.
The script can be found @ extensions/Wikibase/repo/maintenance/DumpEntities.php
For XML dumps we probably need to like to the mw docs, ad we probably need to write some form the JSON dump process.
wikiba.se website could be a venue for these docs?
