Feature summary
Currently (since T73966) the Android app can display categories of articles, as well as pages and subcategories of those categories (and subcategories thereof). However, it doesn’t display parent categories of categories. To make the navigation capabilities complete, it should also display parent categories.
Use case
- Browse the category tree.
Benefits
- Being able to browse the category tree freely and find all related articles (provided that they’re properly categorized). For example, Berlin is in Category:Capitals in Europe. From there, it’s currently impossible to get to Washington, D.C., which is in Category:Capitals in North America, despite the two sharing the same parent category Category:Capitals by continent.
