Description

This task involves the work with making the upstream mobile edit notice implementation we worked on in T312587 capable of being enabled at all Wikimedia wikis.

Emphasis on "capable" above seeing as how the upstream mobile edit notice implementation will only be enabled if a project has NOT enabled the the Edit Notices on Mobile gadget.

Deployment Date

We are planning for the upstream mobile edit notice implementation (T312587) to be made available via a backport window on Tuesday, 10 October 2023.

Requirements

The upstream mobile edit notice implementation (T312587) is made available at all Wikimedia wikis except those that have enabled Wikipedia:EditNoticesOnMobile.
- Where "enabled" in this context means a project has made it possible for the Wikipedia:EditNoticesOnMobile gadget to be turned off / shown to people.

Done

Deployment date is documented
Config change patch is written and backported or the necessary patches are merged and riding the train that will go out on the date defined in the Deployment Date section above

@DLynch: I checked T312587 for the implementation of mobile edit notice and T344465 for the instrumentation. Also while testing T344465 we verified that when the EditNoticesOnMobile gadget is enabled this new implementation won't show up. Is there anything left regarding this to verify from this task?
