Pokémon Puzzle League is a puzzle game for the Nintendo 64. It is the second installment of the Pokémon Puzzle series, released only a few days after Pokémon Puzzle Challenge. It is one of the only Pokémon games to have never been released in Japan.
Gameplay
The gameplay includes fire, grass, water, psychic, and thunder as mini blocks. The object is to arrange blocks into pairs of 3, 4, 5, or 6 to clear the stage. The player can choose a variety of characters and Pokémon to play with. In competitive play, the opponent can send sticks of the type of the mini blocks they have, stalling the player unless they create a combo that breaks it into blocks.
Trivia
- This game features the voice cast of Pokémon: Indigo League, Pokémon The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back and Pokémon: Adventures on the Orange Islands.
- The game takes mechanics directly from Panel de Pon, and it was also originally intended to become a version of the game for the Nintendo 64.
