Momo Maruo

Momo Maruo (丸尾 桃, Maruo Momo) is OhPink (オーピンク, Ō Pinku) of the Ohrangers. She is 20 years old (21 in Carranger and 36 years old as of Gokaiger).

History

Ohranger

Uses sanda and aikido. She loves the city and Machine Empire Baranoia used that against the Ohrangers at times. Momo is best friends with Juri Nijo. Momo is the most feminine of the female members and the team thinker.

Years later, Momo fought alongside not only her own team, but every single Sentai Ranger in existence, against the Empire of Zangyack when it attacked the Earth in the Great Legend War. After fighting against hundreds of Gormin and their Sugormin commanders, Akarenger noticed the fleet moving towards them. He gathered all the Rangers together and gave them the order to sacrifice their powers to wipe out the first invasion's armada. Secret Operations

In Gokaiger episode 31, Momo is revealed to have remained in employment with U.A.O.H. alongside fellow OhRanger Goro Hoshino (OhRed) and offered to freely give the Greater Power of the team to the Gokaigers after making them do things to butter her up (so she can create a diversion for Goro). Momo, alongside her team (bar KingRanger), among the majority of the Super Sentai heroes, was caught up in the "Super Hero Taisen" incident which eventually resulted in the Super Sentai teams and Kamen Riders joining forces to defeat both Dai-Zangyack and Dai-Shocker. A copy of OhPink was summoned alongside her team by Stacaesar through the Ohranger Dark Sentai Gear to fight Zenkaizer. Then, a manifestation of OhPink was summoned alongside her team by Gaon through the Ohranger Sentai Gear which allowed the Zenkaigers to beat the Ohranger clones with a combined Twokai: Choriki Star Knuckle attack. Personality

Momo is graceful, strong-willed and no-nonsense. She is feminine and ladylike, as well as being Juri Nijo's best friend. However, Momo is not afraid to fight and isn't willing to back down. For example, when Juri was hit by a dart which made her a rebellious evil girl, Momo showed no hesitation to fight Juri if it meant getting her back to normal.

She is kind-hearted, intelligent and perceptive as she is the team's brains. However, Momo also appreciates traditional fashion and likes a traditional style.

  • Momo Maruo is portrayed by Tamao Sato (さとう 珠緒, Satō Tamao) (Played as Tamao (珠緒, Tamao). As a child, she was portrayed by Ami Hasegawa (長谷川 亜美, Hasegawa Ami). As OhPink, her suit actor was Rie Murakami (村上 利恵, Murakami Rie), her sub was Motokuni Nakagawa (中川 素州, Nakagawa Motokuni).

Etymology

  • As with the rest of her team, Momo's surname is a reference to her visor's shape, as it starts with the kanji for "circle" (丸, maru).

OhPink Ranger Key
The OhPink Ranger Key.

The OhPink Ranger Key (オーピンクレンジャーキー, Ō Pinku Renjā Kī) is Momo Marou's personal Ranger Key and what became of her powers after she along with the rest of the 34 Super Sentai sacrificed their powers to end the Great Legend War.

This key along with the majority of the Ranger Keys were collected by the Red Pirates and later used by the Gokaigers. The OhPink Ranger Key was mainly used by Ahim de Famille (Gokai Pink), who used it to fight as OhPink.

The Ohranger Keys, along with all the Ranger Keys of the first 33 Super Sentai, were briefly taken by the Black Cross King and turned into Ranger puppets that were fought by the Gokaigers and the Goseigers. Splitting up, the puppet OhPink was defeated as part of a group of surviving Pink and White warrior keys by Gokai Pink and Super Gosei Pink. Notes

  • Her surname is a pun on the word for circle, "maru", in reference to her visor.
  • Her name, Momo, means "peach", in reference to her color and in the tradition of using "momo", as apposed to "pinku" to describe the color, that started with the first Pink Sentai Ranger.
  • Momo is the first and only Pink Sentai Ranger to be associated with the number 1, due to the fact that her visor only had one shape and side. This is usually assigned with most Red Rangers.
  • She is the first to wield a Shield weapon.
