Description

Easily one of the largest animals that can be found in the game, the Legendary Bullgator is easily distinguished by its immense size and white scaled hide, suggesting a degree of albinism. It can be found in the swamps immediately south of Lagras after starting Chapter 6.

History

Events of Red Dead Redemption 2

The Legendary Bullgator is first seen in the mission "Country Pursuits", where he had attacked a boat that Jules was in, forcing him to disembark and become stranded in the swamp. After he is rescued by Arthur, Dutch, and Thomas, Jules goes to pull the boat free after he gets stuck, and the Bullgator attacks him. Arthur swims out and manages to rescue Jules, whose leg had been severely wounded. As Arthur carries Jules back to the boat, the Bullgator pursues them, prompting Dutch to shoot at him. When the Bullgator eventually retreats, Arthur places Jules back into the boat and Thomas begins to row the group back to Lagras. Unfortunately, the Bullgator had survived being shot, and begins pursuing the boat. Arthur and Dutch shoot the Bullgator repeatedly, repelling him once more but failing to kill him.

Location

Following the completion of the mission "That's Murfree Country", the player can hunt down the Legendary Bullgator for themselves. He can be found in Bayou Nwa, south of Lagras and west of Lakay.

Tips

The Bullgator is a massive alligator that can be very deadly. He is extremely durable and deceptively fast, so the player should proceed with extreme caution when they are hunting him.

The easiest way to kill the Legendary Bullgator is by using explosive rifle ammo. Due to him being a legendary animal the pelt will always be perfect and so even the most destructive of weapons can be used without ruining the pelt.

Killing this animal will give the player the opportunity to craft the rare Alligator Tooth Talisman, the Legendary Alligator Fowlers, the Legendary Alligator Vest, and the Legendary Alligator Gambler's Hat.

Trivia

According to the Trapper, the people of Lagras gave the gator the name "Lacartus". This name could be seen after studying him in earlier versions of the game.
