Rengo
Rengo is a ceety an commune locatit in the Zona Central o Chile, situatit in the Cachapoal Province o the O'Higgins Region at a distance o 28 km (17 mi) soot o the ceety o Rancagua an 114 km (71 mi) soot o the national caipital Santiago. It wis named after the courageous Toqui Rengo for his particular bravery at the Battle o Lagunillas.

eeditAccording tae the 2002 census o the National Statistics Institute, Rengo spans an aurie o 591.5 km2 (228 sq mi) an haes 50,830 inhabitants (25,311 men an 25,519 weemen). o these, 37,075 (72.9%) lived in urban auries an 13,755 (27.1%) in landwart auries. The population grew bi 16.5% (7,213 persons) atween the 1992 an 2002 censuses.[2]

eeditAs a commune, Rengo is a third-level admeenistrative diveesion o Chile administered bi a municipal cooncil, headed bi an alcalde who is directly electit every four years.[1]
Athin the electoral divisions o Chile, Rengo is representit in the Chamber o Deputies bi Mr. Eugenio Bauer (UDI) an Mr. Ricardo Rincón (PDC) as pairt o the 33rd electoral district, (thegither wi Mostazal, Graneros, Codegua, Machalí, Requínoa, Olivar, Doñihue, Coinco, Coltauco, Quinta de Tilcoco an Malloa). The commune is representit in the Senate bi Andrés Chadwick Piñera (UDI) an Juan Pablo Letelier Morel (PS) as pairt o the 9t senatorial constituency (O'Higgins Region).
