SleepingBeautyTransparent

Sleeping Beauty is one of Princess Fiona's friends. She suffers from intense narcolepsy, constantly sleeping at random moments, and sometimes while standing.

Appearances

Early Life

Fiona wasn't allowed to go to Sleeping Beauty's slumber party because of her curse.

Shrek

Sleeping Beauty was intended to appear early in development, but was eventually scrapped. However, in the official novelization, she attended Shrek and Fiona's wedding trying to catch the bouquet. This was likely an error on behalf of the writer.

Shrek 2

She is seen in Far Far Away Royal Ball Blowout, where she tumbles out of her carriage at the Royal Ball after being announced.

Shrek the Third

Sleeping Beauty has a more prominent role Fiona, Lillian, Doris, and Snow White. She is first seen attending King Harold’s funeral with the other princesses and inhabitants of the kingdom. During Fiona’s baby shower, she is asleep for most of it and explains to the latter that being a mother will lead to intense exhaustion. When Prince Charming invades Far Far Away, she along with Fiona, the Queen and the other princesses escape. For a brief time, she is carried by Doris, indicating she slept for most of the journey.

The group are soon captured by Charming after Rapunzel betrays them. In the dungeon, she is once again asleep on the bed but soon gains ambition after Lillian head its a wall and Fiona encourages her and the other princesses to fight. She uses her sleepiness as an advantage by falling down and tripping two guards in the process. Sleeping Beauty, with the other princesses, Doris and Queen Lillian, arrives just in time to stop Prince Charming from killing Shrek. Though merely in the background for the rest of the film, she is still frequently falling asleep. After Artie becomes king and talks with the Queen and the princesses, Doris nudges her to wake her up, surprising her.

Description

Sleeping Beauty on her first appearance in the second film wore a light blue dress. She also sported a blue cap with gold ridges, which stored her hair. In the third film, she wears a green dress with white trimmings, has dark green eyes and shoulder length, slightly gold, ashy brown hair on top of which she has a smaller silver tiara. She appears to have green pumps after she tears off the hem of her dress. She has the same nose shape as Rapunzel.

Personality

Sleeping Beauty appears as rather slow-minded, failing to catch up with conversations. Along with that, she is extremely narcoleptic, often falling asleep on many occasions. Regardless, she appears to be gentle, no-nonsense, friendly and ambitious.
