This template is a customized wrapper for {{Infobox person}}. Any field from {{Infobox person}} can work so long as it is added to this template first. It will also emit the same hCard and Geo microformats as {{Infobox person}}. Questions? Just ask here or over at Template talk:Infobox person.

Usage

This infobox may be added by copying and pasting the following blank. Change parameters for the following fields: image, birth_date, ratings, website and remove comment markers . The template's name parameter will be automatically extracted from the article title when you save the page if not specified. All fields are optional. Any unused parameter names can be left blank or omitted.

Parameters

name: Insert name of the person. Use the common name, typically the name of the article, or if multiple names are used. If omitted or blank, it defaults to the name of the article.

image: Insert image name. Use only the file name such as abc.jpg, xyz.png, 123.gif, etc. Do not use syntax such as [[Image:abc.jpg]] or [[Image:abc.jpg|200px]]; Only free-content images are allowed for depicting living people. Non-free and "fair use" images, e.g. promo photos, CD/DVD covers, posters, screen captures, etc., will be deleted – see WP:NONFREE

caption: Insert photograph caption. Try to include date of photo and the photographer.

birth_date

Insert the person's date of birth as: month day, year or day month year as appropriate.

For a living person when the full birth date is known:

death_date

Insert the person's date of death is: month day, year or day month year as appropriate. If the person is still living, leave this parameter blank.

When the full birth date and death date are known, use the following:

death_place: Insert the person's place of death if known as: town, city, state, country. Note: DO NOT add flag icons to the deathplace. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (flags). If the person is still living, leave this parameter blank.

education: Insert the person's education if known. If unknown leave blank.

spouse: Insert the name of any current or former spouse(s). If unknown, leave blank.

style: Insert the person's style of cooking if known. Such as Asian, Southern, Mexican, East Indian, etc. If unknown leave blank.
Separate entries with a comma "," followed by a blank space.

ratings: Insert the ratings given this person. Consider using {{Rating|X|Y}}, where X is the number of stars given and Y are the out of possible stars. The four major guides are listed below. Michelin rates on a scale of 1 to 3, where 3 is the highest rating. AAA motor club and Mobil rate on a scale of 1 to 5, where 5 is the highest rating. The Good Food Guide rates on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest rating. Enclose list entries with {{plainlist}} or {{unbulleted list}}.; Example:

Use as a child template

The child parameter is used when embedding this infobox into another.

This infobox may be used to create a genre-specific section within {{Infobox person}} (or similar biographical infobox templates) for cases where a person may be notable in more than one field; a generic example is shown below. Microformat

The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the person's details parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia or via a browser tool operated by a reader, to (for example) add the subject to an address book or database. Sub-templates

Date-of-birth ("bday") information will only be included in the microformat if {{birth date}}, or {{birth date and age}} are used in the infobox. (Do not use these if the date is before 1583). Be cautious about using these if the person is still living, per WP:DOB.

To include a URL, use {{URL}}.

Please do not remove instances of these sub-templates.

Category:No local image but image on Wikidata (915) – Used by this and other infoboxes (via Template:Wikidata image) to track articles where the infobox has no image but Wikidata has an image name. To exclude articles from this category, update the infobox to display an image or add |nocat_wdimage=yes.
