The Autonomous Robotic Organisms, also known as simply the Autobots or Autons or the Automen, are characters from Transformers. They are an army of alien shapeshifting cyborgs from the planet Cybertron. They fought with their leader Optimus Prime against the Decepticons, which include their dictator Megatron. They later crashed into Earth and defended it from the Decepticons. The Protectons from Robotix, a spin-off franchise of Transformers, are also Autobots.
