Battle of Amiens (1918)

1918 World War I battle

The Battle of Amiens was a battle during the First World War. It happened after the Second Battle of the Marne. It started the Allied Hundred Days Offensive. It was one of the first battles where tanks were used (this is called armored warfare). It took place between the 8th and 11th of August, 1918. The battle was a victory for the Allied forces.

Like other battles in the war, there were very high losses on both sides. On the German side, about 30,000 people were killed, or went missing.
