Don (honorific)
honorific title used in Iberia, the Hispanic world, Lusophone countries and Italy
Don (Spanish: [don]; Italian: [dɔn]; Portuguese: Dom [dõ], from Latin dominus), abbreviated as D., is an honorific prefix used in Spain and the former Spanish Empire, Croatia, Italy, and Portugal and its former colonies.[1]
Don, and dom, is came from the Latin Dominus: the most important member of a household, a title used during the Roman Republic in classical antiquity.
