Geoffrey Bolton

Geoffrey Curgenven Bolton AO (5 November 1931 – 3 September 2015) was an Australian historian, academic and writer. He was best known for his research and writings of Western Australian history. He wrote around thirteen books between 1958 and 2008. He also taught at universities such as the University of Western Australia (UWA), Murdoch University and Monash University. In 2005, he was named Western Australian of the Year.

Bolton was born in Perth, Western Australia. He was educated at the Oxford University and UWA. He was married to Carol Grattan and had two sons and five grandchildren.

Bolton died on 4 September 2015 in Perth, aged 83.
