Godwin, Earl of Wessex

Anglo-Saxon nobleman; son of Wulfnoth Cild

Godwin Earl of Wessex was head of one of (if not thee) most noble and richest house in all of Wessex at the time. Naming his son Harold to be in the line of succession was an obvious choice due to the power the family wielded and the connections they already had. He is most remembered for being the father of the Last Anglo-Saxon King of England : Harold Godwinson (Harold II). Harold was the first King to be Crowned in the abbey of Westminster.
