Maria Ressa
Filipino journalist (born 1963)
Maria Angelita Ressa (born October 2, 1963) is a Filipino journalist and author. She is best known for co-founding Rappler as its chief executive officer.[4] She worked as a lead investigative reporter in Southeast Asia for CNN. Ressa was included in Time's Person of the Year 2018.

On June 15, 2020, a court in Manila found her guilty of cyberlibel.[5] As she is a critic of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte. Her arrest was seen as politically motivated.
Ressa was honored with the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize alongside Russian journalist Dmitry Muratov.[6]
