Description
Rock turns for a single forward axe kick on his foe, hitting overhead.
Originally was used as his Low-Evade move and was even named as such in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum (
Strategy
A staple overhead attack for Rock since Capcom vs. SNK 2, this is a quick attack that can catch opponents off-guard, but mainly as an meaty attack in its first command move appearance. However, while not cancel-able into anything, the CVS2 version of Arc Kick is at least fairly safe on block to threaten a possible frame trap with should Rock use it in a state where the foe cannot contest its slow startup, especially as a meaty.
However, the NGBC version of it while still hitting overhead, has less range than before. However, it is possible to kara/empty-cancel the move before it comes out to increase Rock's pressure/frame trap game.
As of the The King of Fighters XIV it regains the ability to crush lows once more while also being somewhat sped up. It only loses its overhead property when chained-into, but is otherwise cancel-able to make for some strong blockstring extenders or as a combo tool.
In XIV, it can be empty/kara-cancelled once more, but only into the Shinkuu Nage.
