Zero made his first appearance as the final boss of The King of Fighters 2000, given that he is a boss, he is also a very powerful opponent. Many of his special moves like his Zanfuu Enpa Hankyou can juggle the player easily and he has extremely fast normals although he can't crouch, he can also control his own shadow to attack. His signature Super includes creating a giant black hole which is near guaranteed to hit the player, even if blocking.
He later comes back once again in The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match as a playable character where he was given actual crouching animations and is also a potential boss depending on how well the player performs.
