Heidern is a Charge Character who excels at rushing down opponents, baiting them with his zoning tools and anti-air move while closing in with 1 or 2 of his command grabs. On top of a good up-close mixup game with great ranged-normals and a solid counter that gives him an advantageous knockdown, Heidern can easily oppress his opponent with ease.
His main issue however, comes from a lack of good low confirms, as his cr. while being one of his fastest normals, can't be chained into other attacks and is only good as a singluar baiting poke (due to its solid range) merely to force a reaction.
In KOF 2001, Heidern was turned into a circle motion-based character instead of his usual charge-based moves. This was corrected starting with his appearance in KOF 2002 UM, where he reverts back to his charge-based commands.
Heidern grabs the opponent and slams them into the ground, then stabs them in the stomach.

Heidern slices his hands in an overhead crescent motion. As a callback to its earlier appearances, if the move was whiffed purposely, it increases the damage on his Storm Bringer.

Heidern leaps into the air while _targeting his opponent. If he connects, he will spin his body rapidly around their neck.

Heidern stabs his opponent with his fist and drains a substantial amount of energy from them and adds it to his own.

Heidern strikes a finger gun pose, and shoots his opponents away.

Heidern strikes a pose. If an opponent hits him during this pose, he will drain the opponent's life for a modest amount of energy.

Heidern leaps into the air. If he connects, he will perform a stronger version of Storm Bringer. Floating orbs of energy will surround them and be absorbed by Heidern after the move is over.

Heidern dashes forward and pierces his opponent with his hand. If he connects, he will inject an explosive inside them which explodes moments later.

Heidern slices the air in front of him and sends a large blue spinning buzz saw projectile towards his opponent. This buzz saw will keep damaging the opponent until it has dealt enough damage.
Heidern sends a cascading wave of blue energy blades at the opponent. Up close, this move is just an uppercut-like unblockable slash with his arm that rips an opponent in half on impact.

Heidern leaps into the air. If he connects, he will perform a stronger version of the Storm Bringer from behind his opponent and destroy them from the inside.
