Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection (サムライスピリッツ ネオジオコレクション?) is a game collection developed by Digital Eclipse which includes all the six titles from the Samurai Shodown series originally released on Neo Geo arcade/console platform, besides a game never before released: Samurai Shodown V Perfect. The collection was first announced for a fall 2019 release at PAX East 2019, but was delayed for release in 2020. [1]
The collection features online multiplayer for each title, as well as a museum containing artwork, music as well as other features not yet detailed. Players will also be able to switch between the Japanese and American editions of each game. This compilation was playable at EVO Japan from January 24 to 25, 2020.[2]
Although not being a NeoGeo game (only released on SEGA's Atomiswave), Samurai Shodown VI was available along with the collection, only in PS4 and for a limited time.
This special 50 pages artbook come with the special limited items edition pack that sell exclusively in Japan on certain consoles. It features drawings from numerous famed illustrators from across Japan who adore and love the Samurai Shodown series (some of them worked in the series). The gallery below shows the potrayed characters, the artists and their work inside and outside of SNK.
