Throws

Throws (通常投つうじょうな; Normal Throws) are a staple mechanic in fighting games, and SNK games are no exception. For SNK, these date back as far as Fatal Fury: King of Fighters, and have appeared in every game since, from Fatal Fury & The King of Fighters, to Buriki One & The Last Blade.

Normal Throws cannot be guarded, and each individual throw will often leave opponents on one side of the screen or the other. While these do little damage under normal circumstances, these can easily leave opponents guessing when their opponent is going to grab them.

Unlike Command Grabs, Normal Throws can be broken out of if both players input a throw at the same time.

Some examples of these throws are Terry Bogard's Buster Throw & Rock Howard's Fangs and Claws, which leave the opponent on the side of the screen Terry's facing; throws like Kyo Kusanagi Issetsu Seoi Nage & Chizuru Kagura's Kai Ten leave the opponent on the opposite side of the screen he's facing.
