Description

Hinako grabs her opponent and pushes them to the back wall.

In The King of Fighters XV, the regular versions of Yorikiri have Hinako push her opponent to the edge of the screen, while the EX OK version has her go to the far end of the stage.

Strategy

KOF 2000 - 2002 UM

Yorikiri is a delayed invincible command throw which is highly similar to Daimon's Chou Oosoto-Geri command grab. Since this command grab pushes your opponent all the way to the opposite corner side of the screen, as well as granting you a hard knockdown, you can try an ambiguous roll setup or super jump over them with a cross up j. Neo Geo C Button Neo Geo D Button on their wake-up if you're quick enough.

Although Hinako has invincibility during the start-up and active frames of this move (which can be quite annoying for the opponent), it can be easily jumped out of on reaction or spaced out with a quick long ranged normal. You can't combo into this command throw because of its slow start-up, but you can use it to mix up your offense a bit.

KOF XV

In KOF XV, the Neo Geo B Button and Neo Geo D Button versions will no longer push your opponent to the end of the stage, with only the EX OK version only being capable of this. In spite of this, all versions of Yorikiri are fully invincible on start-up, and still remains as a command grab to be feared.

Trivia

  • Yorikiri is one of the few Special Moves that has no property or damage difference between its light and heavy versions.
