The Coin[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of Item Box that grants Coins when broken.
Description
Coins are standard Item Boxes with a Coin symbol in their display.
Overview
In Sonic Origins, and its expansion Sonic Origins Plus, Coins appear only in Anniversary Mode and derived modes, where they replace 1-Ups due to the lack of lives. As such, they are found in areas where the 1-Ups would have been found in the original games. Breaking a Coin Item Box will grant the player one Coin.
