The Croquet Special[1] is a move that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a technique utilized between Sonic and Amy in which Amy uses a Spin Dashing Sonic as a projectile.
Description
When performing the Croquet Special, Sonic crouches and revs up a Spin Dash in a stationary position. Amy then gets behind Sonic and uses her Piko Piko Hammer as a croquet mallet to send Sonic flying through midair while in spinball form into their intended _target.[1]
Trivia
- The move appears to be a reference to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, in which the Queen of Hearts used hedgehogs as croquette balls.
- This technique is very similar to the Fastball POW move from Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.
- In Sonic the Hedgehog #2 published by IDW Publishing, Sonic and Amy performed a similar move that they called the "Croquette Bomber".
