Sonic Tennis (ソニックテニス^[4], Sonikku Tenisu^?) is a mobile phone game released as part of the Sonic Cafe service offered by Sega. The original game was later replaced with a graphically enhanced version for newer phone models, with this version also being available in the United States and Europe through the Sega Mobile service and in Japan through the Puyo Puyo! Sega service after Sonic Cafe was shut down.^[5]

Gameplay

In this game, the player plays as Sonic against Tails, Amy, and finally Knuckles in a series of tennis matches. It's a best of three for each character, and once Knuckles is beaten, the player has won the game. High scores won through in-game prize money can be uploaded to a server to compete across Japan.

Trivia

The referee Chao is absent in the Sega Mobile release of the game.
In the updated version, Tails' eyes are miscolored green in his profile sprite.
