Hi! I'm FanOfMaria2001. You may know me as FanOfRosalina2007 elsewhere, though! I'm super excited to be here! I've been browsing on this website since about 3 years ago (back when it was Sonic News Network). I credit this wiki with informing me about Shadow the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower, both of which are in my top 5 Sonic characters! I really love all things about Shadow, and I bought Sonic X Shadow Generations as soon as it came out. My favorite character right now is Maria Robotnik (hence the username). My focus right now is to clean up pages, mainly for Sonic Prime and Sonic X. I'm still new, so I'm extremely grateful for any help and advice! More about me and my history with the Sonic franchise[]
I am a female user, and my pronouns are she/her. I'd appreciate it if people would use these pronouns when referring to me.
I am a super big fan of the Sonic franchise, and I honestly have this wiki to thank for that. Some of the first video games I ever played were the original four Sonic games for the Genesis. I used to think Tails was a girl (loooooong story), and I first found out that he was a boy on this website. Tails was my first obsession with a video game character, and he has a special place in my heart to this day.
As for my history with Shadow the Hedgehog and Maria Robotnik? Well, I first learned about Shadow after I saw the Sonic 2 movie in theaters on April 8, 2022. At the time, all I knew about him was his name and that he was the "Ultimate Life Form". About a year later (in late April 2023), I decided to research him, and I used this website. I quickly found out that he was similar to my favorite Pokemon, Mewtwo, and from there my love for him grew very quickly because Shadow's story was even more interesting than Mewtwo's.
I learned about Maria at about the same time because she plays a big role in Shadow's life. However, she didn't become my favorite character until July 2024, when I heard about who was playing her in the Sonic 3 movie and I watched the teaser trailer for Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings. I went back and looked at her page, and I instantly fell in love with her character. I admired her for her courage and her selflessness, and I really liked the sibling relationship she had with Shadow.
My obsession only grew later that year when the rest of Dark Beginnings came out in late September/early October of 2024. I treasured the new info on Shadow and Maria, and I realized just how much Maria meant to Shadow. It broke my heart when I saw just how much pain Shadow had endured, and I obsessed even more over the characters. I found out Maria was going to be in Shadow Generations, and I rejoiced when I saw she had gotten her first new piece of official artwork in 19 years. When the new game came out, I bought it and played it right away, and the ending of the game made me cry.
I watched Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on December 20, 2024. I love it so much!! I'll wait to post a review after I see it for the fourth (maybe fifth) time on January 6th, 2025. After that, I will wait for the next new Sonic game and continue my quest for more knowledge on my favorite characters and games!
I'm probably one of the biggest Shadow the Hedgehog and Maria Robotnik fans you could find. I have almost all of their lore memorized, and I'm currently writing a half-fanfiction, half-timeline of Maria's and Shadow's lives from Maria's perspective and using as much canon information as I can get while logically filling in the gaps. I'm having a lot of fun with writing their stories!
I also have a huge love for Sonic X and Sonic Prime, and I was really sad when Sonic X left Netflix. I am getting both the Japanese and English Blu-ray sets for Sonic X soon, though, so I will be able to watch it again in the near future.

 My first image, taken from the Shadow Generations story trailer.  Maria from Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings.  These next 22 are from the PS5-exclusive Dark Beginnings bonus scene.     I love this one. "Won't it be lovely, Shadow?"            This one is currently being used in Maria Robotnik's page.      It was all just a vision...   I uploaded this one (and its "sister image" as I like to call it) specifically for Maria Robotnik (CoroCoro), which I was creating at the time.  The "sister image" of the previous image. I really appreciate how brave they made her in this adaption.  One of my many Sonic X screenshots I took specifically because they were of Maria. I decided to upload this one because it was missing from her gallery and from "Shadow World"'s gallery.  I uploaded this one after Chapter 2 of the manga got a free release. I put it in Maria's CoroCoro page, naturally. I was going to upload another one, but Modestat had beaten me to it!  I uploaded a new version of this file as soon as I found a place to get my hands on the Archie comics. It took a while, but I got a slightly better quality version!  I added this one to Maria Robotnik (Pre-Super Genesis Wave) to show the difference between her first few appearances to her updated one that matched her game counterpart's look. She sure looked different in Issue #98!  I uploaded this one specifically for my second blog post. This is Shadow Generations hardcore. They had to have thought back to this for that final cutscene of the game!! |

"The Forgotten Cameo"[]
I call an image I found on the wiki in early December of 2024 "the forgotten cameo" or the "lost image". Want to know why? Read on!
This is what I like to call the "lost image".
So, this isn't really lost, I just like to call it that because I have a flair for the dramatic. This image is from the Japanese version of the Sonic X episode Running Out of Time, from season 2. I randomly found it while trying to search for an image I had uploaded in November that had previously been deleted (for quality purposes; I admit it wasn't a very good quality screenshot). I was scrolling through the pages that had pulled up as a result of searching for my image, and a filename caught my eye: "Shadow and Maria.jpg".
Now, I really like both Shadow and Maria, and I had never seen that file before in my life. I clicked on it and discovered that it was from a Sonic X episode. I went to the page for "Running Out of Time" and saw that it was uploaded for the "Regional Differences" section: it turns out that this shot was cut from the English dub for unknown reasons! The strange thing was, this image had been on the wiki since 2016 and NO ONE had put it into either Shadow or Maria's galleries, nor had anyone even mentioned that both of them had a cameo in the Japanese version of this episode on their own pages! I quickly uploaded it to Shadow and Maria's galleries and added the cameo to their "episode appearances" section of their infoboxes. So, the little problem was solved. I still wonder, though...why didn't it get mentioned way earlier than this? I now call this the "forgotten cameo" because no one seemed to ever remember this little image.
Anyway, it's just a funny little story. It's a pretty image, too!
