Low wall traversal
Description
A vault over a low vertical surface.
The Vault [1] Sonic the Hedgehog seriesparkour technique that allows the user to vault over approaching low walls while Dashing .
The Vault is a simple technique used to maneuver over small environmental obstacles. The user leaps over the obstacle with one hand planted and lands on top in a position similar to a Duck , remaining idle for a short amount of time before returning to a stance.
In the the Wii U version and PC version of Sonic Lost World Sonic and Super Sonic . In the former, it is also used by the Virtual Hedgehogs . In gameplay, the Vault is used to get over low walls without losing momentum from jumping or ramming into walls. To perform the Vault in gameplay, the player can hold Dash toward a low wall. If the player needs to Vault faster, they can perform a Vault Dash .
