Eucalyptus planchoniana F.Muell., Fragm. 11(89): 43 (1878), as "Eucalyptus Planchoniana"

Typus: F.M. Bailey s.n. (undated; Lectotypus: MEL {0705638A & 0703450A} [designated by Bean 2009]; Isolectotypus: BRI {AQ0024086^(JSTOR) [sheet 2 & sheet 3]}).
- Note: MEL also holds 'HOLOTYPE' (MEL 1611102A^(JSTOR), collected in February 1879, thus Bean denies regarding this as original material) and NSW a possible isotype (NSW335010^(JSTOR)).
Type locality: Australia. [Queensland:] In collibus aridis subarenosis prope sinum orarium Moreton-Bay [in the dry subsandy hills near the mouth of Moreton Bay].
- Lectotypus: Eight Mile Plains.
