Reveille_Revolution_title_card

This article is a transcript of the Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years episode "Reveille Revolution" from season 1, which aired on May 26, 2023.

  • [The episode opens with Kamp Koral at dawn. Squidward is wearing his night clothes, watching his alarm clock in his bedroom.]
  • Squidward: [as the seconds tick down] Huh? Huh? [the alarm rings and he turns it off] [sneakily] Show time! [sneaks out of the room]
  • [Squidward opens the door and looks around. The campers are asleep and snoring. Squidward takes out a box and carefully closes the door. He walks outside, opens the box, and takes out his clarinet. He polishes it with his other tentacles and inserts the reed. Squidward watches the sunrise with delight. He plays "Reveille" off-key. In his cabin, Mr. Krabs is dreaming of going into a tunnel of love with a bad of money.]
  • Krabs: [snores] Money, money, money, money.
  • [A woman is heard giggling. Krabs leans in to kiss the money bag, but Squidward's clarinet comes out of it, playing badly. Krabs is startled and falls out of the boat, bursting his dream cloud and waking him up.]
  • Krabs: Whoa! Ahh! [babbling] [panting]
  • [In the Yacht cabin, Lady Upturn rings a small bell. Regigilled comes in. Upturn points to her ears, and Regigilled covers them. Rea pulls a bunch of dollar bills out of her pillow and sticks them in her ears. Roh does the same with two diamonds from a bowl on his nightstand. In the Barge cabin, the cans of anchovies shake and are sawed open.]
  • Anchovies: [flopping around] Meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep!
  • [Patrick is in bed, groaning. He wakes up and sticks his tongue out, then pulls it between his ears and sighs. SpongeBob wakes up.]
  • SpongeBob: [pleased] Ahh!
  • [Campers are throwing buckets, cans, and assorted objects at Squidward.]
  • Campers: Stop it! / Quiet!
  • Squidward: [stops playing] Ahh. Another perfect morning.
  • [Squidward ducks another object being thrown past his head as he reaches for his clarinet case. He packs it up and walks away, but is confronted by a group of anchovies.]
  • Anchovies: Meep, meep, meep.
  • Squidward: I hope you all reveled in my reveille again.
  • Anchovies: [huddled] Meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep.
  • [An anchovy picks another out of the huddle and hurls it at Squidward, who screams.]
  • French Narrator: [narrating time card] The next morning, like every morning...
  • [Squidward is about to blow into his clarinet. He is startled by a trumpet playing "Reveille". A brown anchovy comes out from behind the signpost, playing it. Music notes come out and cling onto Squidward, who looks disturbed. Cut to Krabs' cabin.]
  • Krabs: [snoring] Money, money, money. Money, money, money. Money.
  • [Krabs is dreaming of the tunnel of love again, holding hands with the money and kissing it. Cupid cutouts descend and hearts come out of the title. Krabs wakes up.]
  • Krabs: Whoo-hoo! [grasps claws together] Ah, ha, ha! Yeah!
  • [In the Frigate cabin, Larry, Mo, and Tall Tail are doing exercises to the music.]
  • Larry: Wow! Larry could wake up to this music every day! Let's kick it up a notch! Feel the burn!
  • [In the Yacht cabin, Rea and Roh slide down the banister and dance around. Upturn comes in, ringing a bell. Regigilled dances in with three plates, balancing them on his arm and catching them in a stack. Upturn, Rea, and Roh clap. In the Yacht cabin, SpongeBob and Patrick laugh at the music notes. SpongeBob inhales some, turning his pupils into music notes, and relaxes as they exit his head. Patrick catches some notes between hamburger buns and eats them. His tongue gives a thumbs up.]
  • Patrick: My tongue is less rippier and much happier this morning.
  • SpongeBob: [giggles, gives thumbs up]
  • [Squidward is still covered in music notes as the anchovy keeps playing. Squidward shakes the notes off and shooes them away, then confronts the player.]
  • Squidward: [grumbling] Listen, pal, reveille is [points to himself] my gig!
  • [Anchovies come out behind the signpost and carry the trumpet-playing anchovy off, cheering. Squidward hears clapping and gets frustrated.]
  • Squidward: [grumbles] Stop clapping! Just shut up and--
  • [The trumpet anchovy returns and sticks Squidward's clarinet over his head, then walks off playing "Reveille". Squidward bumps into the signpost, and his nose comes out. He loses balance and walks away. Mr. Krabs is in his office, snapping along to the music.]
  • Krabs: Ahh. Takes me back to me nights at the Deep Blue Note jazz club. [chuckles] Those were the-- [loud thud] Oh!
  • [Squidward enters, still stuck inside his clarinet. He hits the door.]
  • Squidward: [grunts]
  • Krabs: Days when people knocked first! You'd better have a good reason to come bargin' in here.
  • Squidward: [muffled straining]
  • [Krabs removes the clarinet from Squidward and spins it. Squidward takes it back.]
  • Squidward: [grunting] Reveille! Everyone counts on me to wake them up, not that horn-blowing buffoon!
  • [The trumpet music is heard again as the campers cheer. Krabs and Squidward exit to see the campers enjoying it.]
  • Krabs: [clasps hands] Ah, the beautiful sounds of "Anchoveille."
  • Squidward: "Anchoveille"? You gave it a special name already?
  • Krabs: Well, yours has a special name too, [dolphin noise is heard] but I'm not supposed to use such language around the children.
  • Squidward: But that's my gig!
  • Krabs: [shows him a handbook] According to camp rules, the gig goes to the best musician. [snaps it shut, the kids cheer] And the camp has spoken. [snaps along]
  • [Squidward grins and leans back to hit Krabs with his clarinet.]
  • Krabs: [without looking back] You might want to rethink what you're about to do there, Counselor.
  • Squidward: [grumbles and walks past, saddened]
  • [The trumpet-playing anchovy sees Squidward and plays "Taps". The campers pick him up and cheer and laugh.]
  • [Bubble transition to Squidward sulking on a bed as SpongeBob talks to him.]
  • SpongeBob: I don't get it, Mr. Tentacles. No one wakes us up like you, and I should know. I'm your biggest fan. [pulls and opens a cabinet of Squidward-related objects from under the floor]
  • Squidward: Huh?
  • SpongeBob: I have all your albums! [picks them up]
  • Squidward: [confused] I don't have any albums.
  • SpongeBob: I recorded them myself! [gives Squidward the albums, and he flips through them] I've got "Live at the Flagpole," "More Live at the Flagpole," and "Licorice Time with Mr. Tentacles." [takes out clarinet made of soap] I also have a bar of your official clarinet-scented soap. [plays a note and blows bubbles in Squidward's face]
  • Squidward: [babbles, spits out bubbles]
  • SpongeBob: [takes out necklace of reeds] Ooh, and this necklace from your jazzy jewelry line, [Squidward recoils as SpongeBob pushes it towards him] made from your used reeds.
  • [Squidward shoves SpongeBob out of the way.]
  • Squidward: Ew! Have you no boundaries?
  • SpongeBob: You're the best waker-upper ever! Why, the campers would sleep all day if it wasn't for you!
  • Squidward: [gets idea] That's it! Tomorrow morning, I'll wake up an hour earlier and blow reveille! [punches fists] I'll show those anchovy clowns who the boss horn is.
  • French Narrator: [narrating time card] Stupid early the next morning...
  • [It is still dark. Campers are snoring. Squidward sneakily exits the room until he is startled by SpongeBob giving him a cup of hot cocoa.]
  • SpongeBob: Hot cocoa to help you blow-blow your clarinet-o.
  • Squidward: [takes cup, genuinely] Oh, thanks, SpongeBob. That's really nice of you.
  • [SpongeBob shoves a mining helmet on Squidward's helmet and turns the headlamp on.]
  • SpongeBob: Don't want you to trip.
  • [Squidward slips and falls off the front deck. The helmet bounces back up.]
  • SpongeBob: [nervous noise]
  • Squidward: Maybe you should go-go back inside-o.
  • [Squidward appears behind the signpost, still wearing the mining helmet.]
  • Squidward: [looks around] Huh? Hmm? [chuckles]
  • [Squidward is about to play the clarinet, but the anchovy plays "Reveille" from Perch's watchtower. Squidward grumbles and tries to chop down the tower with an axe. A swarm of anchovies runs in and picks him up.]
  • Anchovies: Meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep! [they form a seesaw to catapult Squidward back into his cabin] Meep!
  • Squidward: Whaaa! [screams, thud]
  • Anchovies: [leave] Meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep.
  • Squidward: [the floor is cracked, grabs SpongeBob] This is the worst day of my life. [shakes him] Who am I if I can't blow reveille?
  • Patrick: [appears behind a door] Maybe you just stink at it.
  • SpongeBob: Don't listen to that, Mr. Tentacles. You're the best! You're the--
  • Squidward: [shuts SpongeBob up] No, no. Maybe he's right. As an artist, it's important to take constructive criticism.
  • Patrick: Well, in that case, [covers his nose] you smell bad. [flaps his arms] Your suckers need clipping. [a woman's scream is heard as Patrick spreads his arms] Your armpit hair is long enough to braid, and-- [Squidward shuts the door on him, and Patrick appears in the window] Your breath can peel paint. [Squidward closes the window] And your skin is all--
  • [Squidward puts a painting of himself on the wall to cover up Patrick. Cut to SpongeBob and Squidward at the edge of a cliff.]
  • Squidward: The only way to get better than that anchovy is to practice.
  • [SpongeBob holds up sheet music. As Squidward plays, a giant saw appears behind him. He and SpongeBob stop in confusion, and the saw retracts. They look around, don't see anything, shrug, and keep playing. The saw cuts through the rock. The anchovies on the bottom run up and grab SpongeBob, then let Squidward fall.]
  • Anchovies: Meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep.
  • Squidward: [screams]
  • [Bubble transition to SpongeBob and Squidward, wearing clothespins on their noses, in the outhouse.]
  • Squidward: Ugh. Reduced to practicing in the outhouse.
  • SpongeBob: Look at the bright side. At least it's not the day after Mr. Plankton serves his spicy piquillo pepper poppers.
  • [Squidward shudders and begins playing.]
  • Camper: [pulls up pants] That's the worst noise I've heard in here all day! Yuck! I'm out of here.
  • [He leaves the outhouse. As Squidward keeps playing, the anchovies pick up the outhouse.]
  • Anchovies: Meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep. Meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep, meep.
  • [The anchovies take the outhouse to the top of a mountain above the surface. The outhouse rattles as a horn blows, and opens. Water spills out of it. SpongeBob and Squidward glance at each other. A live-action cruise ship sails by.]
  • Sailors: Boo! You stink! You've got no business playing that thing! No business!
  • [SpongeBob shuts the outhouse door and rushes back into the water. At the Clamphitheater, the anchovies have a full musical performance, which the campers are enjoying. Squidward sticks a plunger on an anchovy's trumpet, to his frustration.]
  • Squidward: All right, campers, listen up! I'm the waker-upper around here, and that's that!
  • Crowd: [murmuring] What? What?
  • Larry: Hey, bro! Larry wants to hear more Anchoveille, and Larry wants to hear it now!
  • Crowd: Anchoveille! Anchoveille! Anchoveille! Anchoveille! Anchoveille! Anchoveille! Anchoveille! Anchoveille! Anchoveille!
  • [An anchovy with a trumpet plays a note that blows Squidward's eyes off his face. They get caught in a trombone and shot back into his eyes. An anchovy with a cymbal plays a loud note that sends Squidward into the air. He lands in a tuba and his head inflates as the player blows into it, then flies out. He crashes into the ground next to SpongeBob.]
  • SpongeBob: Are you okay, Mr. Tentacles?
  • Squidward: [groans, has clarinets circling around his head] It appears the tasteless campers have spoken, and they don't want me as their reveille guy anymore.
  • SpongeBob: I haven't spoken. You are totally my reveille guy.
  • Squidward: [climbs out of hole] I never thought I'd say this, but maybe it's time to hang up the old licorice stick. [sighs and walks away]
  • French Narrator: [narrating time card] The very next day...
  • [Krabs is sleeping in his office, dreaming about the tunnel of love.]
  • Krabs: [snoring] Money, money, money, money.
  • [The boat crashes into the entrance of the tunnel, waking Krabs up.]
  • Krabs: [tries to open his eyes, revealing them to be red] Oh, so groggy. [looks at clock] What time is it? [shrieks] 12:33!?
  • [Krabs rushes out of bed and sees the campers still asleep in the afternoon.]
  • Krabs: Oh! What the-- [runs up to three anchovies playing smooth jazz] what are you doing? [waves music notes away] That Anchoveille is too smooth to wake anyone up!
  • Anchovy: [deep, smooth voice] Meep. [keeps playing]
  • Krabs: Ohh... [the "Z"s above the cabins turn into dollar signs, which float away] If the kids won't play, the parents don't pay! Ah! [runs away, takes out a can of tuna, puts the anchovies in it, then kicks it away]
  • [Krabs runs into Squidward's room. Squidward is asleep.]
  • Krabs: Wake up, wake up! [squeezes him and throws him outside] We need you!
  • Squidward: Ahh!
  • Krabs: [puts Squidward next to the signpost] Blow, boy, blow!
  • Squidward: [pauses, smiles smugly]
  • Krabs: Why am I not hearing anything!?
  • Squidward: [proudly] I'm soaking up this moment of being needed.
  • Krabs: [pauses] Okay, enough soaking. More blowing!
  • [Krabs sticks the clarinet in Squidward's mouth and squeezes him. The "Z"s turn into "!"s, and the enraged campers throw items at Squidward again. Before it hits him, a camera shutter is heard and the same frame is replicated on a drawing SpongeBob is making. He writes "Best Waker Upper Ever!" on it.]
  • SpongeBob: "Best Waker-Upper Ever!"
  • [SpongeBob raises his eyebrows at the camera as Squidward continues to play and have stuff thrown at him outside.]
