The battle for the flagship of the Dark Councillor Darth Vengean happened in 3642 BBY prompting the initial stages of the Galactic War, between Galactic Republic and Sith Empire. The battle was arranged by Darth Baras to ruin his master Darth Vengean and was ended when the Republic Admiral Monk was killed by Darth Baras' apprentice.

Prelude

In 3642 BBY, Darth Vengean and Darth Baras enacted Plan Zero to restart the war between Galactic Republic and Sith Empire. As Darth Baras ordered his apprentice to eliminate the Republic's War Trust on Taris, Darth Vengean would conquer the fringe systems, close to Imperial territory.[2]

Darth Vengean's flagship, under Moff Masken, was sent to the fringe systems but was intercepted by Admiral Monk's naval forces and the flagship was besieged. After taking out the War Trust, Darth Baras' apprentice was sent to lift the siege over Darth Vengean's flagship and eliminate the Republic admiral. The apprentice was able to lift the siege but Admiral Monk escaped to the surface of the nearby planet Quesh. The apprentice followed Monk and eliminated him inside Fort Phalanx, discovering him to be part of Darth Baras spy network.[2]

Behind the scenes

The battle appeared in the 2011 videogame Star Wars: The Old Republic, as part of Chapter II of the Sith Warrior class story.[2]

  4. SWTOR mini STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Question ! :) - Page 3 on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) places Star Wars: The Old Republic's base game content about ten to twelve years after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is dated to 3653 BBY by Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. The Prologue and Act I of the class storylines are assumed to take place in 3643 BBY, as they are roughly concurrent to each other and the Jedi Knight Act I storyline is dated to 3643 BBY by The Old Republic—The Lost Suns 2. Additionally, SWTOR mini Forums: Dear Story Team, What Year Are We Currently In? on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) and Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia establish that the Battle of Ilum and the end of Act III for the class stories occur in 3640 BBY. Additionally, Act II for all classes, while featuring conflict between the two factions, occurs prior to the official collapse of the Treaty of Coruscant, which The Old Republic: Annihilation places in the middle of 3641 BBY. Taken together, this means that base game content spans from 3643 BBY to 3640 BBY, and the class storylines extend over this period, this article assumes that Act II takes place within 3642 BBY and the first half of 3641 BBY.
