Civé Rashon was a Human female TIE pilot in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War. She led Obsidian Squadron, an elite starfighter squadron stationed aboard the Star Destroyer Avenger, and Rashon flew the TIE/LN starfighter Obsidian 1 in her capacity as lead pilot. In 4 ABY, Rashon led Obsidian Squadron at the Battle of Endor, which resulted in an Imperial defeat by the Rebel Alliance.
Biography
The Human female[1] Civé Rashon served as a TIE pilot in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War fought between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. She became the lead pilot of Obsidian Squadron, an elite TIE/LN starfighter squadron that served aboard the Star Destroyer Avenger. In her capacity as lead pilot of Obsidian Squadron, Rashon flew the TIE/LN starfighter Obsidian 1, which had the designation of OS-72-1, and operated under the call sign of "Howlrunner," a name shared with[2] the wild, omnivorous howlrunner species from the planet Kamar.[3] Rashon's wingman was Dodson Makraven, who flew Obsidian 2.[4] At one point during her service, Rashon flew Obsidian 1 over Cloud City[2] on the planet Bespin.[5]
Sometime following the Battle of Yavin[1] of 0 BBY,[6] Rashon served under Imperial Commander Zhanks, and partook in a skirmish against at least one Rebel pilot. She was defeated in the fight, but managed to escape alive in her crippled TIE/LN starfighter. Rashon also participated in battles between Rebel and Imperial forces in the Corellian, Dantooine, Karthakk, Naboo, and Tatoo systems during the Galactic Civil War. The battles involved an Imperial Lancer-class frigate being pitted against a Rebel EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate, with numerous starfighters aiding in the defense or offense of the star systems.[1]
In 4 ABY,[6] Rashon led Obsidian Squadron at the Battle of Endor,[7] in which the Alliance Fleet attacked the Imperial Death Star II battle station in the Endor system. The battle ended with an Imperial defeat and the Death Star's destruction.[8]
Personality and traits
When engaging the Rebel pilot in battle during their post-Battle of Yavin skirmish, Civé Rashon expressed determination to destroy her opponent. She had brown hair, brown eyes, and light skin.[1]
Equipment
Civé Rashon wore a black Imperial Navy crewwoman's uniform[1] with the standard TIE pilot helmet.[9]
Behind the scenes
You have damaged my ship, but I can still destroy you!One of Civé Rashon's possible quotes if her fighter is damaged
Civé Rashon's origins lie with a TIE/LN starfighter prop with a TIE pilot in the cockpit for the 1980 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[10] She was brought into the Star Wars Legends continuity for a card in the 1998 Special Edition Limited expansion set of Decipher's Star Wars Customizable Card Game,[2] while being simultaneously mentioned on Dodson Makraven's card for the same set.[4]
In the 2003 massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars Galaxies, Rashon was added to the game as a non-player character in Game Update 20 of its The Complete Online Adventures expansion,[1] published on August 18, 2011.[11] In the game, the name Civé did not have an accentuated letter E. Rebel players who requested Tier 7 Duty Missions from certain space stations had a chance to battle an elite Imperial pilot during the mission's boss stage. One of these pilots could be Rashon. All of the elite Imperial pilots, Rashon included, had shared quotes randomly generated during the battle. If the player defeated her, she was not destroyed. Instead, a message was displayed to the player indicating that they successfully defeated the pilot, and they were awarded with a collection icon as well.[1]
Elite Imperial pilots also flew in various space battles, which took place in the Corellian, Dantooine, Karthakk, Naboo, and Tatoo systems. As Rashon only appeared in the space portion of Star Wars Galaxies, originally added with the Jump to Lightspeed expansion pack, she could normally only be seen inside her respective TIE/LN starfighter. However, a comm display could appear during the battle that displayed the character's face in addition to the collection icon the player was rewarded for defeating her. Although players could choose not to participate in any of the battles or collections connected to Rashon, this article assumes 100% game completion.[1]
