In 3 ABY, an Imperial convoy of drone freighters was en route to the Kuat Drive Yards with a cargo of hyperdrive components. When Rebel spies learned of this convoy, the Alliance mounted a daring mission to intercept one of those freighters.[1]
Infiltrating drone vessel 171, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian had to bypass the drone freighter's command relay to allow Wedge Antilles and Luke Skywalker to take control of the helm and weapons system. However, the access tube leading to the junction terminal being too narrow, the Wookiee had to brutally remove the panel covering it. Running out of time to properly reprogram the command relay, Chewbacca manually overrode it by rewiring two cables of the junction terminal. Gaining full control of the freighter, the Rebels captured drone vessel 171 and made their jump to lightspeed.[1]
