Everon was a tempest planet and the homeworld of the Evereni species.[1]
History
Before the High Republic Era,[2] the Evereni put their trust in their stormy homeworld of Everon in an attempt to live in harmony with nature; however, the Great Storm came, in the form of a vortex storm that rose from the planet's core bringing strong winds and lightning, destroying the native Evereni's civilization.[3]
A series of centuries-long conflicts in the aftermath were fought among the Evereni for the remaining resources following the Great Storm. This brought the Evereni to near-extinction, forcing those who survived to flee the planet around 500 BBY[2] and become the Wanderers. With his people long ago having fled their homeworld,[3] the later Evereni Marchion Ro felt that the closest thing had to a home was his flagship, the Gaze Electric.[4]
Behind the scenes
The planet Everon and its Evereni people were created by Charles Soule,[5] a Star Wars author who works on the Star Wars: The High Republic initiative. Everon was first indirectly mentioned in Soule's 2021 High Republic novel The High Republic: Light of the Jedi as a homeworld Marchion Ro reflected upon.[4] It was later identified as Everon in The High Republic: Eye of the Storm 1, where it appeared for the first time via flashbacks.[3] Soule later confirmed that the homeworld Ro reflected on in Light of the Jedi was meant to be his species's homeworld of Everon, not a separate planet the Ro family had claimed as a homeworld at some point.[5]
