A plastent was a thin, portable pre-fabricated utility tent constructed of acrylic polymers that could be used as a temporary sleeping quarters for military personnel stationed on a planet's surface. Fully inflated, a plastent stood at approximately two meters in height and could be furnished with meager survey equipment such as a sensor array and other small attachments. They often came with a inflation unit that allowed them to be fully inflated in a few minutes.[1]
In 3 ABY, Princess Leia led a scouting expedition to the planet, Arbra, in the hopes of finding a new, permanent base of operations for the Rebel Alliance. Her survey team set up a small camp in the forests of Arbra and slept in plastents at night.
