Automated fighting is combat at its purest, don't you agree? No living creature, no matter how savage, is free of the taint of self-preservation. But automata, ah! They are without regard for themselves, existing only to follow orders and destroy.Mirkovig Hirken, to Atuarre
A gladiator droid was a droid designed for close-quarters combat and gladiator entertainment in the declining days of the Galactic Republic. Gladiator droids were used in violent sporting events involving other droids or even living creatures. Because the droids were still able function even after sustaining heavy damage, they were extremely difficult to destroy. They were often equipped with an incredible arsenal of weapons and a considerably high intelligence.
