Greenstripes were a species of venomous insect present on the planet Shihon. Unlike most toxic insects known to the Chiss Ascendancy, Greenstripes neither poisoned their victims by stinging them nor biting them. Instead, Greenstripes spat poisonous saliva at their _targets.[1]
Greenstripes rarely attacked Chiss, but the Agbui Shimkif induced one to attack the Chiss mid-ager Yomie during the Great Migration to incapacitate the young woman. Once Yomie was incapacitated, Shimkif could "read" her emotions and the Agbui could advance their scheme to destroy the Ascendancy.[1]
