What's your house?"
"I'm Clan Wren, House Vizsla.A Mandalorian Protector and Sabine Wren
House Vizsla was one of the houses, or political factions, that made up Mandalorian society. It was headed by Clan Vizsla. Two of the clans that allied with House Vizsla were Clan Wren and Clan Saxon. House Vizsla would be at the center of various conflicts in Mandalorian history, including the unification of Mandalore after Tarre Vizsla's death, a civil war during the Clone Wars, and another civil war during the Imperial Era.
Description
House Vizsla was a Mandalorian house, or political faction that was part of Mandalorian society and was led by Clan Vizsla.[1] House Vizsla also contained other Mandalorian clans such as Clan Saxon[20] and Clan Wren.[21] One member of House Vizsla, Tarre Vizsla, created the Darksaber, which became an important symbol of the house and respected by all others.[12]
The house's emblem was a shriek-hawk, a predatory bird native to Mandalore. It would also eventually become the emblem of the Death Watch.[22] The house had a peacetime signet which predated the Death Watch coup.[8]
History
The House was founded by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian Jedi and creator of the Darksaber.[2] At some point later, the Darksaber was kept in the Jedi Temple. During the fall of the Old Republic, members of House Vizsla stole[4] Tarre Vizsla's Darksaber from the temple. With the Darksaber as a symbol of power, House Vizsla managed to conquer and unify all of Mandalore for a period of time.[12]
Following the Mandalorian Civil War, the head of House and Clan Vizsla, Pre Vizsla became the Governor of Concordia. While publicly supporting the New Mandalorians' pacifist government under Duchess Satine Kryze, Vizsla secretly led Death Watch in a secret alliance with Count Dooku's Confederacy of Independent Systems.[4]
During the reign of the Galactic Empire, House Vizsla sided with the Empire in hopes of gaining more power under the leadership of Mandalore’s Imperial Governor Gar Saxon[23] of Clan Saxon. House Vizsla would see internal conflict following a skirmish on Krownest, between Clans Saxon and Wren, with Clan Saxon having Imperial support.[20]
During the New Republic Era, Paz Vizsla was part of the Tribe,[24] a group of the Children of the Watch, who were a religious Mandalorian sect that followed the Mandalorian Creed and the Way of the Mandalore.[25] The group lived in a Mandalorian covert on Nevarro. Following Din Djarin's mission to rescue Grogu, a Force-sensitive child, Paz Vizsla and the rest of the tribe were drawn into public action.[24] Their reveal resulted in the covert's destruction by an Imperial remnant led by Moff Gideon.[26] Paz and "The Armorer" were the only two survivors alongside Din Djarin. Following Djarin's quest[2] to bring Grogu to the Jedi,[27] Djarin, Paz, and the Armorer reconnected on the space station Glavis Ringworld, where they began another covert. After learning that Djarin had acquired the Darksaber through combat, Paz Vizsla challenged him to a duel to regain his clan's sword, but failed.[2]
