An ion cell was a form of power source. It had to be recharged from time to time. When Kazuda Xiono was impersonating a First Order technician aboard the Titan, he carried a datapad listing open work orders. The sixth point on the list, which was written in Aurebesh, involved recharging ion cells.[1]
