- The book's dating system indicates how many years before or after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope an event occurs, denoted by BSW4 or ASW4.
- The book shows an image of a protostar that the Fourth Division was viewing and states that it was the galaxy viewed from a distance.
- The book states that Obi-Wan Kenobi dueled General Grievous aboard the Steadfast in the Saleucami system. As established by "Grievous Intrigue," however, it was Eeth Koth who dueled Grievous aboard the Steadfast, while Kenobi dueled him aboard the Surrogator during the Battle of Saleucami.
- The First Order timeline states that Brendol Hux crashed on Parnassos and met Phasma in 22 ABY. However, the novel Phasma states that the event happened in 24 ABY.
- One section of the book states that Anakin Skywalker was nine years old when Qui-Gon Jinn meets him, while an earlier section says Skywalker was ten years old at the time.
