The Story of The Empire Strikes Back was the second in a series of three audio adaptations of the original Star Wars films, released on LP record album and cassette tape.
This album, released in 1980 and again in 1983, told the abridged story of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back using audio from the film and narration by Malachi Throne. The earlier version was released by RSO Records with the title The Adventures of Luke Skywalker: The Empire Strikes Back, the latter by Buena Vista Records. The original release was a Grammy Award nominee for Best Spoken Word, Documentary or Drama Recording.[4]
