A torpedo was a type of projectile that could be fired both in realspace[1] and underwater.[2]
Space torpedoes
Proton torpedoes were the most common space torpedo. They carried a proton-scattering energy warhead, and were commonly utilized as starfighter armaments.[1]
Underwater torpedos
Torpedoes designed to be used underwater could not be used in an atmosphere or in space.[2] Sub-aquatic installations could be defended by torpedo launchers, such as Czerka Arms' S-4 Underwater Torpedo Launcher.[3] Some starships, such as the DeepWater-class light freighter, could be fitted with underwater firing torpedo launchers.[2]
