A female individual lived in the galaxy during the Age of the Republic. She was the mother of Trace and Rafa Martez, and taught her daughters to help others in need.[2] Trace initially told Ahsoka Tano that their parents had "split," leaving them the family business,[3] but Rafa later told her that they had been killed during the Senate hostage crisis, when Cad Bane, who she remembered as a "red-eyed alien," had shot down a transport during Ziro Desilijic Tiure's escape, which the pursuing Jedi stopped from crashing into a crowded platform, instead causing it to accidentally crash into the Martez family's quarters, killing both parents.[2]

- ↑ According to "Dangerous Debt," Trace and Rafa Martez's mother died during Ziro Desilijic Tiure's escape from prison. The Star Wars: The Clone Wars Chronological Episode Order on StarWars.com (backup link) establishes that Ziro's escape in "Hostage Crisis" took place after the Battle of Kamino in "ARC Troopers" but before the events of "Heroes on Both Sides." Since Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates both events to 21 BBY, Trace and Rafa's mother died in 21.
