Monica Corcoran is the spouse of Richard P. Macklin and also the mother of the late Edward and Dorsey Corcoran in the horror novel, It. She would often engage in violent arguments and quarrels with her abusive husband. Monica left Richard in 1958 following his guilty sentencing of Dorsey’s murder (around the same period, Edward had been reported missing).
