Farley was one of the Edwardian sailors abducted by from Earth by the Eternals to crew the Shadow in the race for Enlightenment. He was in the crew room with the other sailors when the Fifth Doctor and Vislor Turlough entered. Jackson introduced them to Farley and the others. When the crew heard the summons for rum rations, Farley made a hurried exit from the crew room.
Farley was one of the members of the crew that drank the drugged rum that made them accept such things as being in space and wearing pressurised suits. He was returned to Earth after the race was finished. (TV: Enlightenment)
