It appeared as a bleached, grey husk of a great city. Some of its crumbling buildings were reminiscent of London, Paris, Florence, Venice, Rome, Vienna, and the Capitol. Everything smelled of animal dung and blood-matted fur. The sky was a shockingly bright blue, but the sun was a Great Black Eye with many pupils. The Kingdom was ruled by the King of Apes.
