నామవాచకం, s, పరిభాష, పిత్తలాటకము, సాంకేతిక శబ్దము, ముచ్చట, సుద్దులు, అనగా యిల్లు అనడమునకు తిరుమాలిఘ అనడము.

• this is Vaishnava cant రూపాయి అనడమునకు బదులుగా బటువు అనడము.
• this is shopkeepers cant యిది కోమటి వాండ్ల యొక్క భాష.
• The yoga sastram is mere cant యోగ శాస్త్ర మంతా వట్టి సుద్దులు.
• Or cant whinning pretension to goodness " (Johnson) మారీచము, యేమంటే తన దగ్గెర భక్తి లేనిదై భక్తి వున్నట్టు కట్టే వేషము.
• In his Dictionary Johnson calls these words "mere cant" Laudanum, Fascines, Nervour, Fib, and the verb to Virgin.
• In the Preface to his Hymns, Wesley (Works, Vol. XIV. p. 353.) says, "Here the reader will find no cant expressions. " (Ains worth explains it, Sermonis fictitii usurpatio. )

క్రియ, విశేషణం, or toss యెగర వేసుట, యెగవొత్తుట. నామవాచకం, s, (or Auction, Johnson.) యేలము, వేలాము. క్రియ, నామవాచకం, or act hypocritically మరీచముగా చెప్పుట, యేమంటెపిత్తలాటకము చేయడము.

• a canting hypocrite వేషధారి, గుణము లేనిదై గుణము వున్నట్టు చేసే పితలాటకమని.
• Johnson (Boswell 15 June 1784, says Dont cant in defence of savages.
• Hudibras (1.2.258) says Armed, as heralds cant, and langued. Or, as the vulgar say, sharp fanged.

నామవాచకం, s, The Christian Obsr.June 1850: page 430 says "Among Christian infidels assume a religious cant, just as, among Protestants Romanists put on a show of liberality. "
