Not to be confused with the Demon Slayer used by Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts
Demon Slayer (鬼哭連拳, Kikoku Renken?, lit. "Demon Wailing Chain Fists")is an attack used by the practitioners of Mishima Style Fighting Karate. Introduced in Tekken, the move has been used by multiple fighters throughout all following games in the series as a signature move of the style. Jin Kazama was able to perform the move in Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament but lost it in Tekken 4, when he changed his fighting style to Traditional Karate. He is able to do it again in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 but only while in the Omen stance. Devil Jin retained this move along with other signature moves of the Mishima style.
In Tekken 8 the attack was renamed to Back Fist Combo in Kazuya's move list. An alternate string was also introduced called Twin Fang Shattered Spine, accomplished by immediately pressing 3 after the second 2. Devil Jin also retained this move (with its new name) and is able to delay the final hit, similar to the Flash Punch Combo including retaining its natural combo property when delayed.
Both Ogre and True Ogre have been able to perform the attack since Tekken 3 though the former lost the move in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Kazumi Mishima and her devil form are also able to perform the attack in Tekken 7. The move is called Demon Hunter in her command list.
Description
During the animation, the character performs a left-right punch, followed up by powerful high spinning backfist with the right hand. The second and third hits alone make up the Demon Backhand Spin string.
In Tekken 7, Awakened Heihachi's is buffed as it triggers a wall splat, and has more damage and frames on hit.
Usage
Demon Slayer is mainly used as an alternative jab punish to the Flash Punch Combo. While the attack doesn't knock them down, it can be used it has more frame advantage if the user wants to pressure the opponent. Additionally, Demon Slayer does more damage than Flash Punch Combo.
In the first two games, the move is a natural combo, dealing between 47 and 52 damage. In Tekken 3, the damage was reduced significantly and Jin's variation is only guaranteed on a counter hit, with the opponent otherwise able to block the third hit; Heihachi's and Ogre's variations are still guaranteed on any hit.
