Breastforce
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Destron" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Destron (disambiguation). |
- The Breastforce (tee hee!) are a Decepticon subgroup from the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Breastforce (ブレストフォース Buresutofōsu, aka Destrons and Chestmasters) are Deathsaurus's elite troopers, comprising some of the most vile Decepticons imaginable, from murderous back-stabbers to incarcerated convicts, all hailing from the Death Zone. Deathsaurus himself is also a member of the subgroup, but the name is most often used to refer to the elite six-robot team that serves under him. The group derives their... unusual name from the Breast Animals they are partnered with, which transform from their eponymous breastplate armor into an autonomous robotic animal or hand-held blaster. Don't let the name fool you, the Breastforce are nothing to laugh at.
(giggle)
The core six members of the Breastforce are:
- Leozack, Deathsaurus's second-in-command and Grumman F-14D Tomcat fighter jet, partnered with Lionbreast.
- Drillhorn, the tunnelling machine, partnered with Hornbreast.
- Guyhawk, the MAPO MiG-29 "Fulcrum" fighter jet, partnered with Hawkbreast.
- Hellbat, the Dassault Rafale fighter jet, partnered with Kōmoribreast.
- Jallguar, the Baja buggy, partnered with Jaguarbreast.
- Killbison, the Gepard anti-aircraft tank, partnered with Bisonbreast.
Other members include:
- Deathsaurus, Decepticon Emperor of Destruction and dragon/bird-monster, partnered with Tigerbreast and Eaglebreast
- Deathcobra, the Mi-24 "Hind" assault helicopter, partnered with Cobrabreast.
Leozack, Drillhorn, Guyhawk, Hellbat, Jallguar, and Killbison can combine to form the super-warrior Liokaiser. Unlike other Decepticon combiners, the Breastforce can fuse their psyches effectively and form a highly intelligent combiner. Deathcobra was also capable of combining with the team, but died before he got the chance.

Leozack was the first of the Breastforce to join Deathsaurus for his campaign against Earth, Sneak Attack! Dinoking but he quickly developed designs on Decepticon leadership himself. Move Out! Rescue Team He was soon joined by his teammates Drillhorn, Jallguar and Killbison, Unite!! Multiforce and the team performed such missions as the raiding of the Neo Uranium Mines Infiltration... The Uranium Mine and the theft of energy from an American subway system. During the latter mission, the team's Breast Animals came to the fore, as they were unleashed upon the Autobots in the cramped quarters of the underground tunnels. Big City - Underground Terror
Leozack later summoned the fifth Breastforcer, Hellbat, to Earth, but upon witnessing his leader getting dressed down by Deathsaurus, Hellbat decided he himself would make a better leader for the Breastforce. The New Warrior - Hellbat Ever the schemer, Hellbat's honeyed words roped the rest of the Breastforce into several plots, like the theft of energy from a shuttle port Attack the Shuttle Base!! or the ransom of Marine City. Tanker Hijack Operation Since the silver-tongued sneak was usually able to pass the blame for any failures on to Leozack, none of the other Breastforce members really trusted Hellbat, and Leozack began making plans to get rid of him. After rescuing their sixth teammate, Guyhawk, from the Planet Micro Satellite Penitentiary, Rescue! Guyhawk Leozack summoned his old friend Deathcobra so that he could boot Hellbat out and the remaining six could combine into the giant robot, Liokaiser. Attempting to secure his position on the team, Hellbat petitioned Deathcobra to leave, but when a fight broke out between the two, Hellbat accidentally killed Deathcobra and blamed the murder on the Autobot Micromaster Holi. Seeking revenge, the Breastforce merged into Liokaiser and defeated Star Saber in their first battle. Unite! Liokaiser
Back on Earth, the Breastforce battled Star Saber and Road Caesar at the Schaeffer Energy plant, Battle Up of Wrath!! and then went up against Landcross in the South Pole. Fight to the Death!! Antarctic Battle They later lured the Brainmasters into an ambush in the desert Crisis! Ambush in the Desert and helped Deathsaurus battle Star Saber, A Deadly Battle then proceeded to perform numerous energy raids across the world, Ginrai Dies!! only to be repeatedly stymied by new Autobot Victory Leo Fight!! Victory Leo Awaken! Victory Leo and his ability to combine with Star Saber. The Tide Is Turned! The Ultimate Weapon, the Victory Unification
After plots that involved Leozack disguising himself as Star Saber A Mystery?! The Deception of the Base Bombs and unleashing metal-eating insects on the Autobots, The Death-Bringing Space Insects!! the Breastforce accompanied Deathsaurus into space once he had obtained enough energy to reactivate his Planet-Destroying Fortress. The Wrath of the Resurrected Giant Fortress! The Autobots arrived to stop the villains while the fortress's main cannon was charging, and the Breastforce, combined as Liokaiser, engaged Victory Leo in battle. The feral Autobot was able to blast the combiner into the barrel of the cannon, which drained his energy dry. As his body blackened, Liokaiser could feel his consciousness begin to fade, and he could only manage a faint cry for help as his deactivated body drifted off into the depths of space. Showdown! The Fortress vs the Victory Unification

Revived from death by some means and lead by the reborn Dark Emperor Deathsaurus, The Breastforce in the combined form of Liokaiser joined several other powerful Decepticons in an assault on planet Zone. Victory comic
When the Breastforce arrived to join Deathsaurus in stealing energy from Earth, Leozack made his first strike alone, but botched it by forgetting to take his Breast Animal with him. Leozack's Rampage! The rest of the team later battled Star Saber in their individual forms Star Saber, Warrior of Love! and still later combined with Leozack into Liokaiser to engage the Autobot leader on Energy Planet X. Liokaiser had the upper hand in this battle, but the tide turned when his individual components began arguing amongst themselves over who would get to deliver the killing blow, and Star Saber used the opening to defeat them. Star of Friendship, Jan and Star Saber!
Subsequent fights did not go well for Liokaiser; first, he was thrashed by Star Saber when the Autobot leader combined with Victory Leo to become Victory Saber, The Strongest Pair, the Combination of Victory! and was then flattened by the united Autobots' "Five Stars of Victory" attack. Shine, Five Stars of Victory Following this defeat, the Decepticons retreated into space and began attacking Earth using Deathsaurus's "Space Stronghold". Naturally, the Autobots pursued, and when Deathsaurus engaged Star Saber in a space battle, Leozack saw an opportunity to remove all his enemies at once. Even as his shocked teammates looked on, Leozack turned the fortress's main cannon on Deathsaurus! Deathsaurus survived the blast and fired upon the fortress with his own weapons, after which Star Saber came smashing through the fortress's control room window and slashed Leozack with his sword. Even as he collapsed in front of the Autobots, Leozack begged them not to destroy the fortress, and the true nature of the massive craft was revealed to the Autobots: It contained the Decepticons' families, whom they had been fighting to protect all along. - The seven members of Breastforce were sold individually, in the fifth year of Takara's Fight!! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline, under the "Victory" banner. As their primary gimmick, each one comes with their "Breast Animal" partner, which transforms from robot animal to hand-held weapon to a breastplate that slots into a depression in each robot's chest; the Beast Animals are not designed to be swapped around, unfortunately. Deathsaurus comes with two Breast Animals, with his upper torso having a cavity deep enough to slot the flatter Eaglebreast behind the larger and more elaborate Tigerbreast.
- The six smaller members can also combine into the super robot Liokaiser, notable for his atypical almost-total lack of combiner kibble.
- As molds (mostly) unique to the Japanese toyline, they generally command high prices on the secondary market.
- Leozack, Killbison, Jallguar, and Drillhorn were later remolded to create the Rescue Force members Rescue Force, Rescue Force 1, Rescue Force 2, and Rescue Force 3, respectively.
- ID number: D-335
- Though Liokaiser's six components were all sold as individuals, they were also available in a single Liokaiser box set. This set lacks bio cards for the individual components, having only cards for Liokaiser.
- Between his status as a relatively late-run Japanese exclusive, his commanding price at release, his unique engineering, and Killbison's fragility, a complete Liokaiser is notoriously expensive; it's not uncommon to see them running for $1,000 or more.
Kre-O
- Jarugar (Kreon Micro-Changer, 2014)
- Bag number: ***** 52
- Accessories: Stand brick, 2 double barreled guns
- The only member of Breastforce to appear in Kre-O (and the first to appear in a Hasbro toyline), "Jarugar" was part of the fifth assortment of blind-bagged Kreon Micro-Changers, and can be rebuilt from robot mode into a racing buggy. He sports Hound's helmet.
- Jarugar cannot be built according to his instructions... well... sort of. The instructions say to put his harness on the neck-peg in vehicle mode, but this interferes with the hood piece, keeping you from pushing the front-end blocks all the way down the neck peg. You can either put the hood-piece all the way forward on the attachment stud (as opposed to center-point as the instructions say), or put the harness on the waist pointed back to the feet and set the windshield part a bit forward to close the gap.
- This assortment of Micro-Changers was functionally available only at Toys"R"Us stores in the US and Canada, as other large retailers had all but abandoned the Kre-O line. It was later made available in the US through discount chains like Five Below.
Combiner Wars
- Liokaiser (Platinum Edition Collection Pack, November 2016)
- Accessories: 2 pairs of Weapon/Combiner extremities (both white & dark gray), 2 Sword-rifles, 2 pairs of double-barreled guns (both white & dark gray), Ironbison's Tank cannon/gun, Drillhorn's Drill-gun, "Ion Scythe" Micron
- Combiner Wars Liokaiser is composed of the Destrons, including "Dezarus"—who is a retool of Combiner Wars Sky Lynx in homage to his dragon-like monster alt-mode. His tooling changes include a new shuttle nose/dragon face finned helmet, and a new combiner mode face (underneath the upper half of Sky Reign's head, now used as a helmet) inspired by the original Liokaiser's. Leozack and Jallguar are unfortunately ejected from the team.
- All four limbs include new, animation-accurate heads—Fellbat (renamed for obvious reasons) and Guyhawk were redecoed/retooled from Combiner Wars Skydive and Air Raid respectively (with two of their double-barreled guns each), whilst Ironbison (also renamed) and Drillhorn were redecoed/retooled from Combiner Wars Brawl (with Drillhorn using BotCon 2016 General Ramhorn's drill). Also included is Ion Scythe, a new character redecoed from Arms Micron Guru.
- Unlike the original Liokaiser toy, Platinum Edition Liokaiser is designed to have his legs attached with the tank body facing forward as opposed to facing sideways. While the legs can be attached sideways to achieve a look similar to the original toy's design, doing so will rob Liokaiser of his functional knees unless you also rotate Dezarus's upper legs. Also, stock photography often takes advantage of Liokaiser's paired legs by not folding away the rear portion of the tanks (otherwise necessary to make the tanks the same length as other Combiner Wars legs), thus adding about a half-inch to the combiner's height.
- Liokaiser also comes with a collector card and a huge poster based on his packaging art in a large box, as the only Combiner Wars "Collection Pack" that's co-branded as part of the Platinum Edition range. Strangely, despite having Ion Scythe serve as his main weapon, the package art omits the weapon-bot and instead depicts Liokaiser holding a blaster from one of his component robots, as well as giant nunchaku which the toy (sadly) does not include.
- In the United States, this set was officially exclusive to online retailer Entertainment Earth, but was also stocked by other retailers like BigBadToyStore. In Hasbro's Asian markets such as Hong Kong and Singapore, it was available at general retail. Additionally, it was also sold at Ripley stores in Chile and at Myer stores in Australia, whereas in Canada, it was available via the Canadian Walmart website, but never sold in stores.
Notes
- The term "Breastforce" is consistently romanized as "Brestforce" in every English instance of the name on the toy's packaging and tech spec materials. It may be a misspelling, or a usage of the obsolete alternate spelling "brest"; belief that it was the latter led to the "Brestforce" spelling being used in the subtitles produced for Metrodome and Madman Entertainment's releases of Victory. Although the "Brestforce" rendering avoids immature jokes, it does imply that they're from Belarus.
- Following the trend in later Japanese Generation 1 series, the six combining members of Breastforce have fairly uniform tech spec numbers. Like their opposites in Victory, the Brainmasters, four of them essentially have straight 8s, with a couple numbers slightly higher or lower to indicate their specialties, and all have totals in the neighborhood of 64.
