After the brutal attack on SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar and a successful hack into the national defense network aboard Air Force One, Secretary of Defense John Keller was informed by Admiral Brigham that this was obviously the first phase of a major attack on the United States of America, and the only countries with this capability would be Russia, North Korea or possibly China. When NSA analyst Maggie Madsen interrupted to suggest otherwise, Brigham condescendingly pointed out North Korea was doubling its naval operations, but was not impressed when Madsen also pointed out it was probably a precaution against America's own increased naval activities. However, none in the room were moved by Madsen's seemingly-ridiculous theory about a living organism being the true culprit behind the hack.

When Captain Lennox's US Army Ranger team established contact with the Pentagon, Brigham rushed off to confirm their location. He and the other commanders were astonished when they saw the giant mechanical scorpion that was attacking Lennox's men.

Soon after, the Pentagon's command center was left blind when the virus uploaded into the defense network during the Air Force One hack activated itself and cut off communications around the world. Later, Brigham was present for the teleconference between the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary Keller where it was decided that Sector Seven would be disbanded and the remains of the Decepticons disposed of.
