Synopsis
Travelling through space in their ship, the Reclamation, the Recyclons have been fruitlessly searching for things to salvage for their masters, the Harvest Lords of Sigrath. Science officer Assessor detects a large quantity of potentially usable metal, so, after some debate, Captain Salvage orders a closer look. A short time later, they reach their destination, which Detonator recognizes as the planet of Junk, something the Recyclons previously believed to be a myth.
They land, and, after taking some scans, decide it's suitable to be converted into energon. To this end, six of the Recyclons merge into the Prime Processing Unit. Salvage is about to start it operating, when he's interrupted by Wreck-Gar, but he is unable to understand half of what Wreck-Gar is saying, and so simply shoots the Junkion. Wreck-Gar quickly fixes himself using the junk to hand, and more Junkions pop out of the ground to join the battle. The Recyclons quickly find they're no match for the Junkions, and only Salvage, Assessor and Extractor make it back to the Reclamation still functional, though they are able to retrieve the other three, who end up in the repair bay.
Despite their loss, Salvage is determined to convert the planet into energon. Assessor hits on the idea of processing it from space using the ship's communications array to boost the processor beam, though it will result in only a quarter of the potential energon being recovered. There's still the possibility that the Junkions may have spaceships to attack them with, so Salvage decides to distract them by engaging in peace talks. He returns to Junk and apologizes to Wreck-Gar...only to paralyze the Junkion with a surge of energy, informing him that the planet will soon be converted to energon.
As Salvage turned to leave, Wreck-Gar reveals that the Junkions aren't beaten yet; they possess a tractor beam, which they promptly use to draw the Reclamation down to the planet's surface, where the Prime Processing Unit overloads, destroying the ship. Salvage is last seen with a number of Junkions closing in on him.

Continuity notes
- This story takes place prior to The Transformers: The Movie.
Errors
- On page 41: "Salvage start running towards the Reclamation, not pausing to look back to see if his crew followed." "Start" should be in the past tense.
- On page 42, there is an extra quotation mark before Salvage's first line of dialogue.
