Synopsis
At a test site in the Swiss Alps, the newest Autobot Power Core Combiner Choppermaster, having been brought into the program on the advisement of Jetmaster, is putting his remote-controlled drones through their paces in advance of attempting his first merge with them. Before he can combine with them, however, he is ambushed by the Decepticon Rollermaster, part of the "Master Chaos" sub-group—the Decepticons' answer to the Autobots' Master Class—who takes control of the drones and combines with them, quickly turning the training ground into an inferno. Choppermaster's partner Firebug converts to his heat-resistant armor mode to protect him from the flames, then switches to Gatling gun mode and blasts Rollermaster with incendiary gel. The two combatants continue their battle, unaware they are being watched...

Notes
- As a helicopter with a love of fire and a friend of Jetmaster, Choppermaster can be easily identified as an upgraded form of Jetmaster's old Air Patrol team-mate, Blaze Master. The story contains no real hints about Rollermaster's true identity, but his bio and Tech Specs reveal that he is Straxus; writer Andrew Hall notes that his intention is for Straxus to have actually crossed over from the Marvel comic universe into the Japanese cartoon continuity.
- Not mentioned in the story but juuust visible at the corner of the artwork for this chapter is a Micro Trailer from Return of Convoy, used here to transport the drones around.
